It is still not 100% which campus I will be at in
Indonesia, but I really don't care. I have a connection to an old friend at one
of the campuses-total coincidence-but I am confident God is putting me where I
need to be. Hell, between getting to know my buddy Grant, actually deciding I
would consider going abroad for a couple years, and everything that transpired
that crazy weekend, it felt like I was just along for the ride. Initially, my mom was
not the biggest fan of the commitment I made. I don't think she realizes how
much I am going to miss her, though. Not just her, but all of my family and
friends. I have been so lucky to have all the incredible people in my life that
I have; I could literally talk for hours about the incredible support system
that I lucked into.
I really don't think that I will have my, "oh s***,
I'm going to Indonesia and not coming back anytime soon" moment until I am
actually over the Pacific. But I certainly am thinking about the big decision I
have made. Contrary to what I thought would happen, I have had no second
thoughts about taking the job. This is an incredible opportunity, and while it
is possible to do so, why not? I thought about all the people that don't have
the chance to do something like this: whether that be a significant other,
financial restrictions, or employment conflicts. With me being in the small
percent that can, it almost felt criminal for me to not do it.
I hope this will be a good way to update everyone on my
journey, show some cool pics, and hit you with some Indonesia knowledge. Rock
Chalk
